ASQA’s Highlighted Areas of Regulatory Focus

During the recent ASQA 2026 Sector Webinar and other recent sector engagement activities, four recurring areas of regulatory focus have been highlighted:

1️⃣ Poor-quality assessment systems and practices
2️⃣ Poor-quality training delivery
3️⃣ Continuous improvement
4️⃣ Unsuitable or unqualified trainers and assessors

For RTOs, the first three areas have a direct connection to the quality of the training and assessment resources being used.

Now is an ideal time to review:
✔️ Training and assessment strategies
✔️ Assessment tools and practices
✔️ Learning and assessment resources
✔️ Continuous improvement systems and evidence

Many RTOs continue to rely on resources that were purchased years ago and have since undergone multiple rounds of internal editing, making version control, maintenance and compliance increasingly difficult to manage.

With ASQA clearly signalling its focus areas for 2026, now is an excellent time to review the quality, currency and compliance of your training and assessment resources.

At Learn for Work, we help RTOs reduce this burden through continuously maintained, audit-ready learning and assessment resources that are updated in response to training package, legislative and industry changes.

If you have any concerns about the quality or compliance of your current resources, we would be happy to discuss how they compare against current expectations.
